Update Regarding Murludi Hiking Trail and Access Road

We are pleased to announce that our access road and River Route trail are open again!

The shorter River Route trail is officially back open for hikers. Elsbos Trail remains closed until further notice.

Important Safety Notice: The road remains rough following the heavy rain and flooding and is suitable for high clearance vehicles only (SUVs, 4x4 and Bakkies).

Low-clearance passenger vehicles are strongly discouraged from attempting the road at this time to avoid damage or getting stuck.

Please drive slowly and carefully.

The Trails

Murludi Hiking Trail offers two routes, Elsbos Route (8km) and River Route (4km) ranging from 1.5 to 3 hours. The shorter route is based around the orchards and irrigation dam and gives an idea of the farming activities. The longer route continues along the hills of the Witzenberg Mountains with beautiful fynbos and some of the finest views in the valley.

To enjoy our beautiful hiking trails you need to have a permit. Permits can be obtained directly on the farm.
